Physical Description:
Brynn is on the tall side for human females, athletic and quite comfortable in her own skin. She has a fair complexion, but a few freckles attest to time spent outdoors. She has very dark brown wavy hair which tends to escape most attempts at containment by pins or ponytails, and by her own thoughts overly large, clear green eyes. Her expression has a softness most of the time, and a calming thoughtfulness. Brynn has an easy smile and finds it difficult not to.
Family & Personal History:
Brynn was born in the foothills of Virginia, only child of a farming family. Her parents had shied away from becoming dependent on technology, and maintained a seed bank of heirloom plants dating back to 19th century Earth. The farm had been maintained as a working farm for generations of her family, passed down from son to son since her ancestors arrived from Ireland and settled in Virginia. Her parents instilled a deep and abiding wonder of the Earth in Brynn, and she knew every plant and wild thing. Horses were her great passion growing up, but even so, her eyes lifted to the stars and she pursued aspirations of a Starfleet career all the way to fruition. Her parents had not been especially supportive of the decision, and talking to or about her family had become somewhat of a prickly spot for her.
The academy became her focus, and Biology was her forte by all account. She had always been fearless, and the thought of discovering and studying life forms on other worlds was like a magnet. Before she was accepted into the Academy she trained horses and service animals, because although technology had taken the place of the seeing eye dog, or the police horse-always there was a place for the exceptional bond humans had with animals, and this she promoted in every way. She learned from childhood that the way a human related to animals, and the acceptance the animal extended or denied said a lot about people in general. There was an intuitive link between herself and animals-she took it for granted because it simply was always her nature, but it was unsettling and astounding to others. She had earned the nickname "Dr. Dolittle" among her colleagues, which she was certain she would never shake.
She hoped she would be as accepted by interstellar creatures as easily, and was anxious for the opportunity.
Educational History:
Biology was her favorite subject, with horticulture a close second. Brynn preferred to stay out of the limelight, so often stayed silent when she would have had a much better answer to a given question. She was a good student, and went directly from her local school system into Starfleet Academy-avoiding any time in between at home for her parents to continue their campaign to dissuade her. Although she enjoyed History, she had grown up in a family with a strong oral tradition and she found that the Irish-American interpretation of history did not always reflect what she was being taught in school, which early on led to debate bordering on argument. She reached the point where she found level, withdrawing from discussions that were heavily weighted in politics and religion.
Medical History:
Brynn was always healthy, in fact often her parents balked at vaccinations and synthetic treatment. Her immune system had evidently benefited greatly from this, because she honestly could not remember ever being sick. No mention had been made of her medical records on her entrance to Starfleet Academy, although she was often asked to donate blood.
