<CMO_Lt_Tav>

:: wakes up from a nap in his cabin and finishes the last few sips from the bottle of wine that had been delivered directly to his table. Picking up a PADD he takes a moment to look over the goings on of Sickbay, and quickly concludes that everything is running smoothly and he doesn't need to check in. Jorvan puts on his clothes and steps outside to the river that flows by swiftly, and drops into the kayak sitting on the shore. Time to

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

fight some current! ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: is soaking in an outdoor hot tub under a leafy pavilion next to a cool and shimmering pool, every inch of her body having been scrubbed up and rubbed down, her finger and toenails painted a blushing pink, she is holding a glass of some kind of mildly intoxicating fruit juice and tipping her head back, her eyes closed ::  Ahhhhhhh.

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

:: trying to figure out a recipe for... tomato soup. A cookbook is balanced precariously by a bowl and she's staring at it trying to figure out why someone doesn't just simply puree the tomatoes to make the soup and why the long process is needed. ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: is also in said hot tub, quite enjoying the fruit drink, and finds that the hot tub is the best tub of all, through the scrub and rubdown was also brilliant :: Mmmmmmhmmmm.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

Kate:  Why have I never done this before?  This is the best. shore leave.  EVER.

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Is kneeling down on a wide rocky ledge, jutting out over a sheer cliff.  Eventually, after more than a 1,000 foot drop, the ocean waves crashing against the rocks.  For the moment, however, Quinn is not concerned with any of that.  The silverish backpack from last time lies open on the ground in front of him, and he's snapping together its contents. ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

Lexy: You are not just a whistling pixie! It really is wonderful, and hey, it was your idea.

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Basically, it resembles a surfboard without the fin.  Also silverish.  So you know it's the future. ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: now walking on land and strolling the street with Ian, stretches her legs and a few muscles she's not used to exercising from their lenghty and adventurous swim in the ocean nearby ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: takes another piece of fruit from one of the plates around the tub and bites into it with a satisfying crunch ::  Oooh, I know this one.  It's supposed to be "You ain't just whistling Dixie".  Dixie was a song popular in the... I want to say 18th century?... in the American South.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

Kate:

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

Lexy: I think I like my version better. :: takes a nice long drink of fruity umbrella cocktail ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: nodding in agreement ::  Kate:  Whistling pixies are a much funnier mental image.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

Kate:  So... hopefully this isn't offensive... how does this compare to Risa?

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Gets up, brushes the pebbles off of his knees, and takes a long and satisfying look off into the distance.  Miles away, he can faintly make out a popular local beach.  The one where he had that drink with Ilaihr, actually. ::  Yep.  This'll do just fine.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: notes a clothing store with items on display that look like they may appeal to T'Kirr :: Hey, that would look nice on you. :: points at a sarong-like thing ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: having scanned the store front briefly, takes a second look at the item in question and ponders it ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

Lexy: Of course it is not offensive, do not be silly. There are two Risas; the one you know that is all for the tourists, much like learning everything about Earth from only visiting Las Vegas, and the one that still holds to our culture.

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Unhurriedly strolls back to the case, picks up the board, and takes a deep breath...before sprinting to the edge of the cliff, and diving straight off. ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

Lexy: So I think you would be comparing a place like this to the tourist part of Risa, yes?

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

Himself and any birds that may be in earshot>

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

:: fights a losing battle against the waves as he attempts to paddle upstream. Not that he was expecting to make it more than a few meters that direction at the most. Finally, he turns his kayak around and takes a ride downstream to where there is a small town with an activity he's always wanted to try: recreational skydiving. ::

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

Self: Why does a recipe for soup require these added ingredients? Should it not just be soup? :: stares at cookbook for a bit more. She can hear Taril running around outside taking pictures of the sights. Those would end up on his wall as soon as he returned to Earth ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

Kate:  What is the real Risa like?

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: walks towards the store and studies the sarong closer :: Ian: It may very well be pleasing to the eye on me, although I do wonder if they have other colors.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

T'Kirr: We can go in and look if you like.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

Lexy: It is... more casual. Tourists see our people scurrying to meet their every need, but that stems from our natural tendency to always show hospitality to guests, I suppose. Just not in such a rush.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: walks into the clothing store and sees a myriad of beach wear, mostly women's in the front area, and looks for where the main display of the highlighted fashion could be ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: nods, taking a sip from her drink ::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Forces himself not to close his eyes.  For a few seconds, he just lets himself feel the sheer rush, of the sort that almost got him sent to the slammer once.  Then, however, he manages to wrestle the board into position to put his feet on it and engage the magnetic boots.  ::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: With a lud, high pitched whine, the onboard anti-grav generators come online, full force, blasting him away from the cliff and out over the water.  A moment later, he angles the board upward, such that it begins to slow his descent, even as he continues flying out to sea. ::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

I say again, WAHOOOOO!

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

Lexy: If you have guests, you must provide well for them. We listen to and play good music, and theater, and love a good party. Then relax, enjoy good food and drink with family and friends.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

T'Kirr: There they are. :: points out a rack with a few different colors of the sarong ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

Kate:  That sounds really nice.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: spots them and immediately can see what colors are available. The window was displaying a bright orange one, but she instead is drawn towards the earthy tones, and she picks up a brown one ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: smirks :: Well, I was going for color as much as style, but that does seem to be more your speed.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

Lexy: It is... but the focus is on the people you spend the time with. And in that department, this place is as good as any.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: holds it up over her front and tries to get a decent look at it before succumbing to using a full-length mirror nearby ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: grins at Kate, thinking there's a compliment in there ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: nods approvingly :: Though should try a tropical print, just for the hell of it.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: decides to humor Ian and swaps the brown for a loud-colored wrap ::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: He's a LITTLE rusty, but he's practiced this often enough in the holodeck.  It's a different feeling entirely without safeties, even knowing he would have been grabbed by transporters before he hit bottom if the board failed.  This outing had to be registered to be legal, sadly.  Still...wow. ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: smiles over her drink after taking another sip  ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: incidentally, he's totally wearing a Hawaiian shirt ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: stares at herself in the mirror:: Ian: Are you done with it now?

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: He finally descends with still a LITTLE more speed than would be strictly optimal.  For a moment, he's surrounded by water as the board clears a little depression between four and five feet deep.  But he's up again a moment later, only a bit splashed for his error, and finally levels off about 12 feet above sea level, zooming along at a good 30 mph. ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

Kate:  Wanna go for a swim and then back to the hot tub?  I think we have dinner in half an hour.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

Lexy: Sure!

<VAdmBlackthorne>

T'Kirr: You don't like it at all, do you? :: chuckles ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

Ian: No. :: swaps the print back for the brown :: Do you not like this one?

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: climbs out of the hot tub wearing a spa-provided bikini that she's finally growing comfortable with, steps across the warm paving stones, and dives into the deep end of the pool ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

T'Kirr: Oh I do, just figured you might like to branch out a bit.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: follows along, clad in a dark green bikini, and ties her hair back before diving in ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: pins Ian with a look :: I am branching out. I'm looking at civilian clothing that's not replicated. I haven't...done something like this in many years.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

T'Kirr: Alright, fair enough. Then, in that case, I think the brown one is perfect.

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

:: finally succeeds in making the soup and has no clue if the finished product is even acceptable :: Taril: Come inside for a moment, sa-fu! I request your opinion on the soup.

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

:: arrives at his destination, a small town known for its outdoors activities. He hops out of his kayak into the water and begins to push it up onto the shore. From there, he walks inland and sees his destination not too far away. It's essentially a giant rail gun that flings its cargo up into the air at a 45 degree angle, but accelerates slowly enough to not hurt a healthy humanoid. It's a different take on skydiving, where most places

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

... you would ride up in a shuttlecraft and get kicked out the back door, but he's always wanted to try it the way they do it here. ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: seems satisfied by Ian's answer and goes to check it out ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: breaks the water ::  Whoo!  Refreshing!

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: swims a few strokes underwater, noticing a mosaic tile pattern on the bottom of the pool, then crests :: Ahhh!

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

Taril>

:: looks up from the beetle he is observing and runs inside :: What d'you mean? It's gonna be good. Susie's parent use that recipe all the time!

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

:: tries to stifle a sigh, but fails just a bit :: Taril: Perhaps so, but the logical thing to do is test the recipe first. I am unsure of the ingredients required. They seem excessive.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: finishes up with whatever passes for trade on this planet in this era and walks out of the store with Ian with a new shopping bag ::

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin>

:: sees Tav approaching :: Tav: Good afternoon. Care for some adventure?

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

Taril>

:: picks up a spoon to test the soup :: Mom, it's fine, really! When did you start worrying about what the food tasted like?

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

:: nods :: Motpin : I am. I was hoping to make use of that. :: points to rail gun ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

T'Kirr: Nice pick. Looking forward to seeing you wear it.

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

Taril: When I returned to making it for myself. Replicator food leaves much to be desired. :: ladles soup into two bowls and sets them both down on the nearby table :: Wash your hands, Taril. It is time to eat.

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin >

Tav: Ah, you Are looking for adventure. Have you ever done that before?

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin: I have not. However, in my Starfleet training I have had to parachute from five thousand meters. This looks much more enjoyable.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: turns and floats on her back ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: sets off into swimming quick laps with practiced form ::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Crouching low on his board, waves to a couple on a passing sailboat as he goes zooming past.  After that, he's getting very close to shore, and so he ramps hos board up to full power, and full elevation, giving him plenty of clearance above the beach goers heads.  It's a couple stories up, enough to really get the "joy of flight" thing. ::

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

Taril>

:: almost as if on cue, his stomach rumbles :: Awesome! I've gotta show you a picture I took. The beetle was almost posing, I swear! It just kept standing there and letting me take the picture!

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: wonders at when she will wear the sarong, perhaps the next holodeck function, and briefly entertains other options before looking on as they begin to stroll ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: notes a couple pass by hand in hand and decides to catch Ian's hand with her free one ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: as they pass by a break in the buildings along the water, the sun is setting, and the sky is a brilliant kaleidescope of the red end of the spectrum, and he stops a moment ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: deliberately swims by the floating Lexy and splashes her with her kicks ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: stops with Ian and looks at him questioningly ::

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin>

Tav: Why yes, sir. It is. We just need to get the proper gear for you. :: grabs a backpack and sets it on the counter between Tav and himself :: Here is your parachute. A basic fifty square meters, should give you a nice landing.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

Gack! :: sputters and submerges ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

T'Kirr: Been a while since we've seen a real one. Lots of blue gas and storm clouds instead lately.

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

:: pulls the parachute pack to himself and inspects it ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: follows his eyes towards the sunset :: Ian: Indeed.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: swims after Kate ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: takes a deep breath of salt air as the sun dives deeper ::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Having descended again a few minutes later so as to traverse the town's streets, he finds himself glancing to the buildings on either side with a slow grin.  Maybe he can try his luck a LITTLE with the locals. ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: pops up at the end of the lap and feigns ignorance ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: splashes Kate in the FACE ::

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin>

It is a low-wind day today, so we can launch you to the lowest altitude, 3,000 meters, or as high as 12,000 meters, if you want to use supplemental oxygen.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: splutters and splashes back, laughing ::

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin: This being my first time being launched, I think I'll do something a little lower. How about 5,000 meters?

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin>

Tav: Not a problem. Right this way.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

: watches the planet's sun disappear and can't help but think planetary rotations and distance light is traveling and such ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

T'Kirr: I'm just as much about the science as the next guy, but that was beautiful.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: also laughing ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

Ian: And to think, it happens every day.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

T'Kirr: But we don't get to see it often. Or breathe this fresh sea air.

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Hopes someone tapes this...and he doesn't screw it up.  Time for some really ADVANCED moved.  Having found a suitably narrow street at last, he swerves sharply right, and upward, beginning to scale the wall a little.  He makes it well over head level before the velocity starts to die and then...WOOSH! ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: squeezes his hand :: Ian: No, we don't. But we do have something else.

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

:: walks out of the office toward the rail gun with Motpin, receiving the briefing on how to survive the launch, what to expect, when to pull his parachute, and everything else he needs to know, and then helps him to attach to the rail gun for the ride into the sky. ::

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin>

Tav: Ready?

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

Kate:  I'll race you a lap!

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin: I am.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

Lexy: OK!

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Blasted across the street, he executes a spin in-mid-air, getting the board between himself and the next building before he impacts.  Another thruster blast continued the maneuver, and so on the taxing stunt goes until at last, he emerges onto the rooftop of a six story apartment complex! ::

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin>

Tav: Alright, then. Launching in Ten...

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: looks to him :: Ian: We can experience sunsets on dozens of planets. Together, with the finest crew we could ask for.

<CMO_Lt_Tav>

Motpin>

Tav: Nine...

<VAdmBlackthorne>

Yeah, you're right. And I wouldn't trade it.
