<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: on the bridge, reading a PADD with yet more reports, as the EVAs continue ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Standing at a replicator, taking a quick break to get a cup of herbal tea::

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

:: nears the end of her half of the list, although these are the more difficult sensors to repair ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: monitors the stationkeeping of the autopilot, which is keeping the ship's orientation constant for the EVAs ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: doing diagnostics and recalibrations behind the repair teams as they progress ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Watches the engineering teams hard at work getting the Crush Cans finished ready to leave:: Self: Busy busy bees. I missed this all took much.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: having sorted through the reports before submitting them to Blackthorne, turns to the latest sensor data, what sensors are working ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: sends word to Starbase Alexandria to be expecting them ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: takes note of Blackthorne's latest action, afterwards and quietly :: CO: I'm sure this is not how you expected to visit.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

XO: No, but I'll take it anyway. :: smirks ::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Shuts his toolbox and kicks off from the ship's hull, activating his comm once he's gotten a hand hold on the pod's seat:: *CSO* This is Quinn.  Blockage removed from sensor node 17. There was some damage to the housing, but it's all sorted now.  We got lucky.  The node itself doesn't seem to have taken any real damage, and it should be capable of adequate

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

resolution for slipstream once we're done re-installing.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

CO: Makes for a good excuse? :: tries out the suggestive reasoning ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

XO: That it does.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Finishes sipping his tea, equips his trusty hypospanner, and gets back to work::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*CEO* Good to hear.  I'll bring the node back online.

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Notes the conversation at the command seats, and pulls up a ship listing, muttering softly to himself. ::  Alexandria, hmm?  Let's see who's going my way.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: taps at her console to bring node 17 gracefully back online ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

Node 17>

:: pirouettes into place ::

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

:: uses the computer to find an expedited solution to a rather complicated problem with one of the sensor nodes ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

Node 17>

:: but then twirls back out of place, just as gracefully ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Inspects a number of the completed Crush Cans, making sure that they're up his standards. Comes across one that seems to have been half assed:: Self: Tsch ::Shakes his head:: Kids these days... ::Starts fixing it::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: sees that the node isn't actually reinstalled yet ::  Self:  I guess I misunderstood.

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

::Puts a stop to the space ballet with a low powered tractor beam.  The damn thing can express itself on the weekends.  He then brings a second tractor emitter online for stability, and gently pilots the sophisticated piece of equipment back into its slot. ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Finds the problem:: Self: H3 unit not properly secured. Well, I guess there had to be one that fell short. Can: Didn't there?

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Notes the soft thud as the sensor unit connects home with a satisfied nod, and kicks off from the pod one last time, to re-engage the mooring clamps. ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

Node 17>

:: pirouettes into place, for real this time ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: restarts the array gracefully to include Node 17 and runs a diagnostic ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Secures the H3 unit correctly and gives the whole can one more once over before giving it his seal of approval. Quickly moving onto the next::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Turns the handle of the third and final clamp, then taps a few keys on a recessed panel before making his final report. :: *CSO* Aaaand we're done.  I've just re-connected the unit to the ship's power supply.  Telemetry should be available at your station.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*CEO* Thank you, Quinn, everything looks great up here.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: restarts the array again with Node 17 now online and powered for real this time ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

Shuttlebay: Ladies and gentlmen, I know everyone is probably tired, and I dont have the authority to give you an order, but if you are feeling particularly tired, I would suggest that you get a cup of a caffinated beverage and have a quick breather. ::Points at the can he just fixed:: We dont want to show sloppy work, we only borrowed these cans and they need to be in the same state they were in before they came aboard.

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

:: finds that the computer's solution was ideal for fixing this sensor node and proceeds to apply it ::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

Engineer Price>

Rusty old piles of crap that look like the designer had gone blind from drinking warp coolant?

<VAdmBlackthorne>

Miner>

Beautiful, ain't they?

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

Price: That is not for you or I to decide. I for one think they have a rust-IC feel to them.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

Miner: I've become quite attached to them, yes.

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

*CSO* In that case, seeing as he'd probably rather hear it from across the room than VIA comm, feel free to inform the Admiral that slipstream capability is available as well, as soon as he wants it.  Though one last hull stress test would be recommended.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

Price: And they may look old and rusty, but they got the job done.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Begins work on one of the last cans, whilst smiling to himself::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

Price>

Never said they didn't.  What they DO is impressive.  But that doesn't make it any prettier.  Anyway, this one's done.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

Sir, Quinn says we should have slipstream capability available, though a final hull stress test is recommended.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

Price: Excellent. We should have about two or three, including this one, left then.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

CSO: What would he recommend? A standard warp flight?

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: perks up at the good news ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*CSO*  What do you recommend for a stress test?

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Having gutted, and pieced together over a dozen cans over the course of the mission, completes this can in record time:: Self: I'm starting to fix these cans through muscle memory.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*CEO*  What do you recommend for a hull stress test?

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

*CSO* :: After pondering it a moment :: Just a simulation first.  That'll just be a couple minutes.  If that checks out, then give it some gas.  Warp 4 ought to be enough to demonstrate any lingering weaknesses.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: having buried herself in reports of the science and repair kinds, along with a myriad of crew resources for the duration of their latest mission, finds herself eagerly awaiting the idea of navigational breakthroughs ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

Shuttlebay: Its time to roll these beautiful pieces of tech out. ::Points at a couple of officers still working on the remaining cans:: You two keep working on them in the mean time

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

*Bridge*: Hello, bridge?

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*ENG*  Bridge here.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

*CSO* Ah, Lieutenant. The vast majority of the cans have been completed, just waiting on two that are very nearly complete, so I'd recommend we start launching.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

*CSO*: I'm sure the pilots are eager to get back to Telthis.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

CO: Sir, his recommendation is this:  Just a simulation first.  That'll be just a couple minutes.  If that checks out, then give it some gas.  Warp 4 ought to be enough to demonstrate any lingering weaknesses.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

CSO: That works. Have it set up as soon as the EVAs are aboard.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*ENG*  Sure.  When they're ready to go, just have them contact me for departure clearance.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

*CSO*: Yes ma'am. Pilots: Well, welcomed guests, it is time we all part ways. When you are ready to leave, please contact our lovely Chief Science Officer for departure clearance, and you can be on your way.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

Miners>

:: collectively give off thanks and other various sentiments as they begin to file into the crush cans ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Smiles and waves at the miners, before going to help with the last 2 cans::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*ENG*  Wright to Engineering.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: The crush can that Harper flew, that was towed aboard empty, now has its proper pilot aboard ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

*CSO*: Ilaihr here lieutenant.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*ENG*  Ilaihr, we need to have a hull stress test simulation put together and run.  Can I put that in your capable hands?

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

*CSO* Alright, everything's as good as it's going to get out here.  All worker bees returning to their bays.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

*CSO*: It should be a doddle. Do we have the real-time sensor information on the current hull integrity?

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*CEO* Excellent, I will suspend all crush can departures until everyone's home.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*ENG* We do, though not all of the sensors are running at full capacity.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Moves over to a spare console, whils making sure everything is in  order on the last cans::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*ENG* Also, what is a doddle?

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

:: finishes with her final sensor node repair, noting that it will require a second look :: *CSO* T'Lira to Wright. Are you busy at the moment?

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*SCI*  Just setting something up with Engineering, how can I help you?

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

*CSO*: It means, it should be done quickly, efficiently, and most importantly easily. I'll have to compensate for the missing sensor information, provided the gap is not too huge, I should have some good news to you in.....approximately 7 minutes.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

Hm. Alexandria replied with baseball scores.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*ENG*  Excellent, thank you, Ilaihr.

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

*CSO* I have completed the final sensor repair on my half of the list, however, I believe it will require a second look. I am not sure if the repairs will hold.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: perks eyebrow ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Uplinks the computer to the hull sensors, and begins running simulations, ranging from warp 1 up to warp 9.5::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*SCI* I can take a look at it.  In the meantime, I only finished about 3/4 of my list... can you take a look at the ones I have left?  I'm sending them over now.  I got pulled away to support the EVA teams, I'm afraid.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

McKnight>

Sentinels won over the Stars, 6-2.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

(McKnight: not >

)

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

*CSO* Thank you. I will "take a look" at the ones you have left. :: reaches over to computer console to send the telemetry on her sensor node ::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

McKnight>

:: Grins :: Everyone laughed when they passed over signing Mackenzie.  But they knew they needed a few solid hitters more than a hotshot on the mound.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Monitors the real-time simulation. The integrity holding perfectly through warp 1-3.9::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: looks at the sensor node ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

McKnight: So who on Alexandria is sending you baseball scores? :: chuckles ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*CEO*  Leiutenant Quinn, are you still outside?

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Integrity still holding well within safety margins up to warp 8.5::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

McKnight>

CO: Oh, just an old war buddy in the Med Corps.  Figures I could give Ron a call and get my hands on something interesting if the bet goes his way.  As is, not going his way so far.

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

*CSO* :: Tugging off one of his EV suit gloves, taps the wall comm unit with his elbow. :: Nope.  Back on Duranium Firma.  What can I do for you?

<VAdmBlackthorne>

CTO: Had a feeling those were meant for you. :: smirks ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Integrity still holding steady to atleast 9.5:: Comp: Computer sweetheart, now jump the Atlantis simulation to quantum slipspace::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*CEO*  Oh, we have a sensor node that still looks like it might misbehave even with our repairs.  Can you take a peek at the telemetry for node 52 and see if you think the repairs will hold?

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

McKnight>

Still, got a case of Tzenkethi gin squirreled away in storage, just in case.  Not quite illegal, but not exactly a walk to the nearest replicator away.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

Miner>

*Bridge* League of Xe mining ships requesting mass departure clearance.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: notes that all EVA teams are aboard ::  *Miner*  League of Xe mining ships are cleared for mass departure.  Thanks for your help, and stay safe out there.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

Miner>

*CSO* Safe travels, Atlantis.

ACTION>

The crush cans file out of the shuttlebay and descend back toward Telthis.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: watches sensors intently ::

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

:: Calls up the specs on his holo-gaunlet display and frowns softly. :: Yeah, that's kind of a pisser.  Looks like I'm going to have to spend some quality time with that software chasing that down.  Shouldn't be a problem, though.  Just dial down the gain a little.  Run 47 and 22 a little harder to make up the coverage.  They'll handle the load.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

*CSO*: The simulation is just about down Lieutenant. Hull integrity held until atleast warp 9.5. Telemetry is still coming in on a quantum slipstream jump, but the hull should hold. Although, I would probably recommend increasing power to the integrity field and inertial dampeners. No harm in erring on the side of caution.

<CEO_Lt_Quinn>

( ^ *CSO* )

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*CEO*  ::grins:: Very well, I'll leave the care and feeding of node 52 to you.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*ENG*  Understood.  Do you have all the info on the slipstream jump yet?  How does it look?

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

*CSO*: She's just this second finished. The hull will hold. But my recommendation still stands, since it is a simulation after all.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

*ENG*  Aye, understood.  We'll take her easy.  Thanks for the quick response.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: overhearing the news, starts making preparations for depature ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

*CSO*: Any time Lieutenant. I aim to please, and apparently so does the computer.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

CO:  Sir, the simulation results just came back.  The hull should hold through warp 9.5 and slipstream, though Engineering recommends increasing power to the structural integrity field and inertial dampeners just in case.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

CSO: Make the power adjustments as they recommend and inform Telthis of our departure.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: shares an expectant look with Blackthorne ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: makes the power adjustments with a few taps ::  *Telthis*  Telthis, this is Atlantis informing you of our intent to leave the system at this time.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: looks at T'Kirr, glad to be departing ::   NAV: Set a course for the Torae Einx system, Starbase Alexandria, at warp four for now. It's a bit far, but we'll open up shortly.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: dials in the course heading and speed :: Aye aye, sir, course laid in and ready.

<SCI_Ens_TLira>

:: works her way through the sensor repairs, listening partially to some rather illogical gossip between two crewmembers behind her ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: does a final check of the ship's status ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Claps his hands at everyone in the shuttlebay:: Shuttlebay: Well done everyone, you all performed exemplary in your duties. You were all instrumental in saving countless people, and you should all be proud of yourselves. Well done.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: notes the projected travel time to Alexandria at warp four is measured in years ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: nods at Blackthorne ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

Shuttlebay: As an old trader in Romulan ale, I can tell you all....that drinks are on me.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: turns at T'Kirr's nod to face the viewscreen :: Engage.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: hits the gas ::

ACTION>

Atlantis warps off into the black.
