Physical Description:
Andrew Harlan is a tall, muscular man with dark brown eyes, grey hair and beard. Well over sixty, but with the physicality of a forty year old marine: muscular and fit, with plenty of scars.

Family & Personal History:
Andrew Harlan started life as an unknown baby, donated to a child's care home in Seattle, Earth. He was given the name Andy, after his appointed caretaker's grandfather, and the surname Person, a common name for a nameless child.
Andy Person grew up in and around factories and sports stadiums, always being expected to do physical work and to excel in sports and games.
On his twenty first birthday, he applied for a name change, as he wanted to shed his recognisable surname stigma. So, Andrew Harlan was born, chosen after a character from one of his favourite books.
After a decade long career in lower tier professional sports, Harlan felt there was no more to accomplish there, so he retired from the team and moved to Mars. There, he took classes at the Utopia Planitia school of engineering, where he mastered in weapons systems and ordnance design. These degrees set him on a route through the gritty tiers of StarFleet, where he had to enlist in order to work on ship systems design.
A few years later, Andrew was appointed as mobile ordnance specialist, basically an arms repair man in times of war throughout the Alpha quadrant. Often, he had to not only repair a console, but also act as a stand in replacement for the officer who died along with it.
With less violent times on the doorstep, Andrew Harlan quit the engineering department and signed up for active duty on any exploratory vessel, seeking new horizons.

Educational History:
Andrew Harlan only recieved basic education in early life. After his sports career, though, he moved to Mars where he took classes at the Utopia Planitia school of engineering, mastering in weapons systems and ordnance design.

Medical History:
Andrew takes good care of his body, but not necessarily in the tradional way. Always wanting to be ready for conflict or escape, he spends a lot of time in the gym or doing push/pull ups when no training kit or holodeck is available. Nearly every bone in his body has been broken in the past and he shows a significant number of scars all over his body. Don't come at him with a dermal regenerator, though, he likes them that way.
