<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: sitting at her console, watching communications fly around the fleet. ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: on the Bridge at her off-center console, reading reports ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: in the ready room, talking with Admiral Zuriyev, trying to explain why he just destroyed a Starbase ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Is running through damage reports in engineering.::

<CMO_Dr_Tav>

:: continues treating the wounded in Sickbay ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: in the CAG's office off the assault bay, putting together the squadron report ::

<MED_Ens_DrSlade>

:: walks over to Tav:: CMO: excuse me commander are there any other patients that need surgery? I have finished in Surgical bay 1 and can take the next patient

<SCI_LtJG_TLira>

:: at an auxiliary station on the bridge, monitoring shield harmonics and trying to come up with a way to reinforce the shields. ::

<CMO_Dr_Tav>

:: turns slightly to Slade :: MED: No, Doctor. Everyone is out of the woods. No more surgeries needed, just some suturing and a couple burns.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: finishes, and takes the PADD with her out of the assault bay into the turbolift ::  TL: Bridge.

<MED_Ens_DrSlade>

CMO: Then I will get another dermal regenerator and treat the other burn patients

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: does at least manage to convince the Director of Alpha Quadrant Operations that it was necessary to prevent the Starbase's capture, and took out a large chunk of the invading fleet ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

aENG: I'm going to venture to the bridge, take up the engineering console there. Deal with these reports, and maybe get something useful done. Do you have things down here.

<MED_Ens_DrSlade>

:: walks to supply and returns with dermal regenerator and begins treating burned patients::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: flips through operational reports ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: arrives on the bridge and quietly takes the helm ::

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: looks over at Harper and smiles at her as she takes her seat ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Turns and walks into the turbolift:: TL: Computer, Bridge please. ::The doors close as the lift ascends.::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: half quirks the corner of her mouth upwards when she sees Lexy, but remains otherwise dour ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: the conversation turns to intelligence reports and Tzenkethi movement ::

<CMO_Dr_Tav>

MED: Very well, Doctor.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: takes a quick look at how many quantum slipstream equipped ships are present ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Steps off the turbolift onto the bridge, PADD in hand held up to his face, as he walks towards the ENG console.::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: takes a quick poll of the propulsion and guidance systems, finds everything to be in working order ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: satisfied, she turns and presents her PADD to T'Kirr :: Here is the after-action report from the Sharks, Commander.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: looks up and almost routinely takes the PADD, adding it to her list of reports :: NAV: Thank you, Commander.

<CMO_Dr_Tav>

:: after finishing the patient he's working on, heads to the morgue to take care of Crewman York, the burn victim who did not make it. ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: nods courteously and turns back to the helm ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

DAQO: Alright, Alexi. That's our best shot.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Notes how strange it feels to be on the bridge, whilst he lists all the minor damage they sustained.

<SCI_LtJG_TLira>

:: decides to check on her compilation of data on the Tzenkethi. It's grown, by only a few files, but it now stands at thirty different pieces of intel. ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: the secure channel drops and he sits there for a second, enjoying the silence ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Prioritises structural damage, and that done to the shid emitters.::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

<shield emitter.>

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: walks out onto the bridge :: XO: Damage report.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: turns her head to Blackthorne as he enters ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Turns in his seat as the admiral enters, as he sends his reports to engineering::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

CO: It appears Atlantis has sustained only minor damage. Not all reports are in, but anything major would have presented itself already. Shields are on their way to full strength. I'll be compiling a resupply list once repairs are complete.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

CO: I've set repair priority to the hull and shields.::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

<hull and shields, sir.>

<SEC_Lt_Kuari>

:: prances the corridors, instructed to visually verify integrity in listed areas. She stops in a seemingly random location and stands on her two hind legs, pulls a PADD out of her kangaroo-like pouch, and reviews it briefly with large, bird-like eyes that seem to cross in front of her large snout ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: nods :: ENG: Speed it up. We'll be back in the fight sooner than later.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: doesn't say, but feels a slight bit of pride that the Atlantis had fared so well under its crew's guidance, especially Blackthorne's navigation if she's honest, and thinks it's only right that she be fit for further defense against the invading forces ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

CO: As the commander mentioned damage was minor... but repair teams are working at full capacity. I think more can be done in improving shield efficiency and strength.

<MED_Ens_DrSlade>

:: walks into the morgue to find Tav examining the crewman that died on his operating table earlier that day::CMO: Commander I think it would be a good idea if I went to the Dock 3 and checked on the casualty team if that's alright with you sir!

<VAdmBlackthorne>

ENG: Make it happen. Atlantis took care of us, so let's return the favor.

<MED_Ens_DrSlade>

:: riddled with guilt from losing the crewman, knowIng he did all he could but still impacted by it. He remained at the door waiting for the CMO to respond::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: looks around the room and takes stock, then, sensing something, he turns to the helm :: NAV: How many, Kate?

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

CO: Four, sir. :: flatly ::

<CMO_Dr_Tav>

:: senses that all is not right and turns :: MED: Are you okay, Doctor?

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: looks over at Kate, sympathy in her eyes ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Nods:: CO: You can almost hear how proud of us she is. ::Rests his hand on the console with his eyes closed for a second, before getting back to work::

<MED_Ens_DrSlade>

CMO: I will be sir, just the first patient I have lost since coming aboard

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: nods solemnly :: You did well out there. The starbase would not have been evacuated without the Sharks. :: turns to the rest of the bridge :: Or without any of you. We may have lost the overall battle, but it could have been much, much wors.e

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: nods at the CO ::

<SCI_LtJG_TLira>

:: pauses her work momentarily in silent remembrance of all the dead ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: nods somewhat perceptively ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: looks up at him, this never getting any easier ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

CO: With the damage we did to their morale, admiral, it was probably more like a draw sir. A tactical stalemate.

<CMO_Dr_Tav>

MED: It never gets easier, and it's the thing that makes our job so difficult. We get a patient like Crewman York, for whom we could do nothing, was as good as dead before she was even close to Sickbay. And when we fail through no fault of our own, it's very difficult to not blame ourselves. You did all you could. You did a great job. But there was no chance.

<SEC_Lt_Kuari>

:: tucks the PADD back against her belly and drops back down to all fours, resuming her scrutiny of the corridor, sniffing as she goes ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

It does not end with Starbase 621. Their numbers are vast, but their technology is lagging. We will prevail - of that, I assure you.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: thinks of Hotdog, Maverick, Boxcar, and Slaps ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

All: As to those we lost, their deaths have already saved many lifes, but let's make then mean more by carrying on and winning. We have work to do.

<SCI_LtJG_TLira>

:: quietly :: CO: Aye, sir.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

All: Get to it.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: nods, blinking her suddenly shiny eyes, and turns back to her console ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: nods again, more perceptively this time, and peers back down at her console ::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: frowns with grim determination not to let even a single tear escape, and concentrates on the helm ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Thinks solemnly:: CO: Sir. I happen to have the schematics of those Q-T torpedoes that Lieutenant Hamlet sent me.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

ENG: What is involved in their construction?

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

CO: Saturating quantum torpedoes with tricobalt.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: his engineering knowledge kicks in :: That sounds dangerous to contain.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

CO: It is. Going over his work, it appears the Sentinel stored them with subspace dampeners. The guidance system also had to be modified to compensate for the increased mass, so they are slower and less accurate.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

ENG: If you can do it safely - and let me emphasize that - create one. Just one right now. I am aware of the danger of tricobalt.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: sits down in the center seat and starts dispatching orders to the assembled ships ::

<SEC_Lt_Kuari>

:: looks up from her PADD to glance at Blackthorne, then Ilaihr ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

CO: Aye sir. Their main use as I see it is either against the carriers or the fighters.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: that was totally me, not Kuari ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: nods :: ENG: Give it a try. But if you blow up my weapons bay, that's your ass.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

CO: If it were to go sir, it would be all our asses.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

ENG: That would not stop me.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

CO: But I can set up a subspace dampening field in the weapons bay to control the tricobalt's unstable flux.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

CO: I'm not unfamiliar with the substance. It was something I used to begrudgingly transport from time to time....

<CMO_Dr_Tav>

:: finishes up with Crewman York's body, and sends a message to the Ready Room with the proper contact information for the next time Blackthorne is there with a free moment to take care of the unpleasantries of being a commanding officer ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: nods :: ENG: Be. Careful.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: feels the slightest bit of stress at sitting on a bomb ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Moves towards the turbolift:: CO: Like a watch maker sir.

<SCI_LtJG_TLira>

:: doesn't really want to think about what will happen if something goes wrong building that torpedo ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

All:

<VAdmBlackthorne>

All: Prepare for quantum slipstream flight. Yellow alert.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

Shipwide:  Prepare for quantum slipstream flight.

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

TL: Weapons bay.

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: doesn't have to do much to prepare, but verifies that the ensign is at Tactical to switch the ship to Yellow Alert ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

CSO: Signal Discovery that she'll be coming with us, as the only other QSD-equipped ship present. Our destination will be the mining colony of New Edmonton.

<CSO_Lt_Wright>

:: relays message to Discovery as the Admiral said it ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

XO: We have evidence that their fleet is splitting up to raid high priority targets. The dilithium mine there is premium.

<CMO_Dr_Tav>

:: leaves the morgue and returns to Sickbay ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: nods to Blackthorne in acknowledgement ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

XO: With our speed, we may be able to beat them there.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: plots the slipstream solution while he talks ::

<XO_Cdr_TKirr>

:: perks eyebrow ::

<SCI_LtJG_TLira>

:: skims over a new file on the Tzenkethi and wonders why their social structure is so complicated ::

<ENG_Ens_Ilaihr>

::Enters Weapons bay, sets up a subspace dampening field::

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

CO: Slipstream solution ready.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

:: didn't even ask :: NAV: Excellent.     ALL: I will dispense with the usual polling since this has gotten a bit more routine, and the situation warrants it.

<VAdmBlackthorne>

Configure shield geometry for slipstream flight. NAV: Warp two.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

NAV: Aye, warp two. :: engages ::

<VAdmBlackthorne>

NAV: Engage slipstream. If anyone finds a problem, speak up!

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

:: hits the button :: Aye sir, slipstream in one minute.

<NAV_Cdr_Harper>

CO: Ten seconds.

ACTION>

Atlantis and Discovery are pulled into their repective slipstream tunnels.
