Mission Summary
USS Saturn, Mission 2
Game Director: Jack Lucas
The USS Saturn has been diverted to the Badlands to monitor a particularly interesting spatial phenomenon. After recently leaving station Sigma Rho, the crew is fresh and rested. A strong plasma storm within the Badlands has created a tear in the fabric of space itself, and the Saturn has been dispatched to observe and report what it finds near the tear.
Starfleet Science has recommended the ship get no closer than 800,000km, forcing the Nova Class vessel to rely on long range sensors. This is a rare opportunity to observe the universe repair itself in the void of space.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Begin Mission >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: How far away from the badlands are we, Cadet Garrison?
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: We're just approaching our limits, Captain. Currently 850,000 kilometres out.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::stands at the tactical station, idly adjusting the deflector shield specs to better withstand the Badlands plasma storms just in case they go in::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: Make sure we don't get closer than 800k km, Cadet...for now. ::smiles::
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> ::Readys an Inverse tachyon pulse to scan the interior of the tear, as well as a Subspace differential pulse to scan for dimensional fissures.::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Aye Captain
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::Buries his head in various sensor, with a calm look on his face::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> CSO: Prepare a probe, Lieutenant. It's the only way we are getting closer.
<+Med_Ens_Wren> ::stands by the captains chair to catch a view of the tear::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::watches the viewscreen intently::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> TAC: Ensign, how are our shields? I don't want an unexpected surge to take out any of our systems while we are this close to the tear::
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> ::Stares at the screen, waiting for the data to appear::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Approaching the anomaly now Captain
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> ::Nods.:: CO: Already prepping several with multiple sensor suites captain, we'll be ready to launch upon reaching position.
<@GD_JACK> ACTION: The viewscreen shows that The Anomaly is near a neutron star, which is sapping energy from the nearby plasma storm
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> OPS: Bring the tear on the main viewer, Cadet.
<@GD_JACK> ACTION: The Tear appears on the viewscreen, it is barely visible in the visual spectrum.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> CO: Right away. ::Moves hands deftly between two different stations::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> OPS: Magnify on the tear.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::Moves both hands to a single station, squints::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> All: The anomaly looks hungry - I hope it doesn't have a taste for starships...
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> SCI: Ensign, please see if you can find any previous records on the tear from Starfleet Science, how much do we know about it already?
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> ::waits until the Saturn settles, then launches the probes, ::
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::checks over the scans coming in from Science and the forward pallettes::
ACTION: Dozens of probes fly confidently towards the tear, sending back mountains of data, before being swallowed up by the gravity well between the neutron star and the anomaly.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> CSO: At what range did we lose telemetry from the probes?
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ALL: ::sigh:: You know, they don't grow on trees.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: The tear is roughly a kilometer in diameter, relatively low gravity...
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> CO: Right away. ::Begins to search through data, while keeping an eye on the scanners:: CO: Commander, it appears the Neutron star is pulsing with energy, most likely from the nearby plasma storm.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::checks the readouts of the probes with a quiet frown:: CSO: We could launch a couple of torpedoes first loaded with tachyon charges, detonate them at the corona. That should help highlight radiation traces for the sensors, Sir.
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> ::Startled:: CO: It appears like the pulses are increasing in size.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: We lost them in the gravity well between the star and the anomoly.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> SCI: How fast?
ACTION: The viewscreen briefly shows the probes trapped in the gravity well, trying futily to escape.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> aTAC: Not a bad proposal, but I'd like to wait until we have a better idea of the effect that could have on the tear.
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> CO: I can't quite tell, Commander. The pulses appear randomly.
ACTION: The neutron star emits a pulse, and the plasma storm hiccups in response, lashing the ship for massive electromagnetic damage. The bridge and crew are thrown about the ship.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> ::Uses the probes to try to get a better picture of whats happening between the star and the tear.::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::falls from his station but rights himself quickly::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> ::stumbles to the floor before picking herself up:: TAC: Damage report!
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::grips the console tight as he does the shuffle, straining to reach the shield controls::
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> ::grabs the edge of his console.:: All: Oh my!
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> ::turns towards Wren:: MED: You better get down to sickbay, doctor!
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::crouches down at the impact, lowering himself, rises slowly as the ship settles::
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::pulls himself upright again, pushing full power to the shields and checking the damage report:: CO: It caused an overload in several of the main EPS conduits, the systems are rebooting! I'm trying to reroute functionality now, Sir!
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::tries taking control of ship:: CO: No response from navigation Captain!
<+Med_Ens_Wren> :: moves fast from the bridge and rushes to med bay:: i need a report now!
<@GD_JACK> ACTION: The ship begins to lilt towards the gravity well between the star and the tear.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: Are we getting pulled in?
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> ::Falls briefly, before jumping back up and studying the recent pulse::
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::smiles grimly as he reroutes enough subprocessor units to get main systems back online:: CO: Main systems are coming back up, sir. Shields, weapons, populsion, life support...
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> CO: Commander, our shields are fluctuating in their power reserves, and i'm getting nothing from the engines.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> All: I can't do a thing without engines, we're being pulled closer.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> SCI: we need to determine what that radiation from the tear is doing to that star.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::thumps his console, watching them near the rift:: CO: Impulse is still offline. ::stands up straight:: Permission to head down to Engineering and do what I can there, sir?
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> OPS/NAV: We need to have power back to the engines as soon as possible! ::taps combadge:: *Engineering*: Captain to Engineering, what is going on with those engines?
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::taps console furiously, shaking his head::
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> ::Forced calm:: CO: The pulse appears to be taking energy from the nearby storm, and radiation from the tear.
<ENG_Cdt_Baggins> *CO*: ::moans in agony::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> TAC: Ensign, I need you up here. ::turns towards Cadet Rollins:: OPS: Cadet, go down to Engineering and see what the situation is.
<+Med_Ens_Wren> ::taps com badge:: i need doctors on all decks, theres no response from engineering so im heading there. Any other medical calls please come to me.
ACTION: All of the damage is suddenly gone, everyone finds themselves where they were moments ago. The ship is in perfect running condition. You recall exactly what occurred.
ACTION: The Neutron Star pulses on the viewscreen, sapping energy from the plasma storm.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> OPS: Make it quick Cadet. This is ruining my perfect day!
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::blinks suddenly, his hands hovering over a console which no longer shows the damage:: All: What...just happened?
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> All: What on Kressar is going on?
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> All: What... happened?
<+Med_Ens_Wren> :: looks up and frowns:: where... What?
ACTION: The neutron star emits a pulse, and the plasma storm hiccups in response, lashing the ship for massive electromagnetic damage. The bridge and crew are thrown about the ship.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> CO: Yes, Commander. ::Leaps from his station and out the door::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> ::stumbles again as the electromagnetic wave lashes the ship::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::falls to the floor::
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: Captain, if we rig a torpedo to release a broad spectrum warp field within the fissure, it could close the fissure. That should slow down the pulses that are interfering with the ship.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> ::steadies herself:: CSO/SCI: Is this some kind of temporal phenomenon?
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> All: What the... again?
<+Med_Ens_Wren> ::staggers:: theres a repeat! CO: sir theres a relapsed in the material of time.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::stumbles against his console again, keeping a tighter grip this time and diverting all power to the SIF::
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> ::startled, looking at the suddenly fixed ship, before being thrown back to the ground:: CO: Commander, the Neutron star is building up even more energy!
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> All: Engines down again
ACTION: The ship begins to lilt towards the gravity well between the star and the tear.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::looks confused:: All: I don't understand!
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::pushes himself back up straight:: CO: Systems are rebooting again, Captain! I don't have any control
<+Med_Ens_Wren> ::taps com:: all doctors all decks. All future medicals come to me.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> CO: Commander, shields fluctuating! ::A wide eye'd look creeps across the cadets face, as though he'd seen a ghost::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Nothing again from the engines.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> All: Everyone calm down. We need a plan of action to see if the temporal jump happens again.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> CSO: Lieutenant, we need to slow down those impulses. If you think that a torpedo will do it, prepare it at once.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Can I suggest if it does occur we move further out Captain?
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: I agree, as soon as we have another time jump, move away at best possible speed.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: I agree with Cadet Garrison.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::Pulls out a knife from his pocket, and begins to scratch away at the arm of his chair::
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> SCI: Lets work with engineering to shore up the ships sheilds against those pulses.
ACTION: The ship is quickly being pulled into the gravity well.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> All: Could we try sending a shuttlecraft? Maybe it's smaller size will cause a different result?
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::hurriedly readies a few high yield torpedoes:: CO/CSO: I've got photon torpedoes loaded and ready, a large enough explosion might disrupt the rift
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> OPS: Once we time jump again, divert all possible power to shields and engines.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: We cant get a torpedo through the gravity well yet.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::Shakes his head:: All: I need those engines!
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::Spins around to face the Commander:: CO: I'm getting emergency signals from engineering, sir.
<+Med_Ens_Wren> ::looks over padd for reports from med bay as she heads down to engineering to check on crew there::
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> CSO: Good idea, sir. I will study the wavelength of the pulse. Maybe I can get a frequency we can use to block the pulse with the shields.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> OPS: Cadet, go down there and check the situation for now.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> CO: Yes, Commander. ::Leaps from his station and out the door::
ACTION: The ship resets again - everyone is where they were moments before the storm lashed at them. All damage is repaired, all injuries are gone.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: Move out, NOW!
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> OPS/TAC: Divert power to shields and engines from non-essentials!
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Moving to one millon kilometres out Captain.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::Begins to divert all non-critical power to the shields::
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> CO: Commander, we've got another build up from the Neutron star!
<+Med_Ens_Wren> ::looks around the bridge and rubs forehead:: this cant be happening. ::taps con badge:: all doctors on standby. CO: sir i hope this is being reported.
ACTION: As the ship begins to pull away, it finds that the more power the engines receive, the stronger the gravity well below it has become, essentially holding the ship in place.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::pushes shields to full power and loads the torpedoes:: CO: Torpedoes loaded, Captain!
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::taps the control panel as quickly as he can::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> TAC: Fire torpedo!
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> CSO/SCI: Keep scanning for effect.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> ::taps away, scanning the energy from the fissure to determine the frequency.:: SCI: focus your scans on the pulse wave, I'll scan the fissure.
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> ::Terrified:: All: We've got another pulse, the biggest yet!
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: Why aren't we moving, Cadet?
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::launches torpedoes, full spread:: CO: Torpedoes away, sierra pattern.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: I'm trying for everything the engines have Captain, no response.
ACTION: On the Viewscreen, the gravity well crushes the drones trapped there into dust. They disappear from view as the deep blackness highlighted only by the computer grows in strength.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: Determining the effect Captain...
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::looks in awe at the viewscreen:: All: Ouch...
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> NAV: I'll see what energy we can spare, cadet. ::Motions his left hand down towards an adjacent console::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::shakes head whilst looking down at console:: OPS: It's no use. The more we try and escape, the more it pulls in return.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> SCI: We need to close that fissure....I just don't know how we're going to get to it.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> All: Wait, we're moving away... slowly
ACTION: The late affect of the torpedo allows the ship to shake free from the gravity well
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::grins slowly as his torpedoes explode at the event horizon of the well:: CO: Torpedoes detonated, the gravitic turbulence is clearing!
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> ::Stares at console:: CSO: I don't know if we can. It appears...It appears to be growing exponentially in size!
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> ::sits down:: NAV: Pull us away until we are well clear of the tear, Cadet.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> CO: Shields holding steady, captain. ::a grin creeps across the cadet's face::
<@GD_JACK> ACTION: The tear grows on sensors and on the viewscreen, as the ship gets further away from it.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Gladly Captain.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> CSO/SCI: What was the effect on the tear from the torpedoes. Is it the cause of the increase in size of the tear?
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::monitors their shield outputs while watching everything else::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: We seem to have full navigational control again Captain.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> ::taps combadge:: *MED*: It seems our immediate emergency is over, Doctor. Any injuries reported?
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::Jerking back to action, Rollin's gaze leaves the shield monitor and darts around various other screens:: ALL: All systems operating within tolerance!
<+Med_Ens_Wren> *CO*: first two times yes. This time not that i know of.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: The Star is pulling radiation from the tear and the plasma storm near it, which in turn is increasing the effect of the gravity well and the pulses.
ACTION: The Swirling orange Plasma Storm of the badlands suddenly disappears from the view screen. Then reappears moments later. The area affected is directly outside of the tear.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> All: What was that? Another time loop?
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: in addition, the further we get from the tear, the larger its becoming. We're tied to it now.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: Come to a complete stop, Cadet. ::seems to be pondering::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Engines at all stop Captain
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> ::Haggard, Kalum thinks things are over, before seeing the data on hi console:: CO: The tear is now 100 times its original size. It is flooding the nearby storm with radiation.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> SCI: This is why sub-space weapons are illegal, you can never tell what they'll do.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> CSO: What are our options, Lieutenant? Moving away seems to have placed us out of danger of the pulses, but we still seem tied to the rift.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::checks the blip on his console with another frown:: CO: Shields are dropping, sir. 95% at present, they seem to be affected by the radiation.
ACTION: The neutron star on the screen blinks, as the viewscreen is either malfunctioning, or going full-white momentarily.
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> CO: That damn Neutron star! Its pouring out another energy type...I've never seen or heard of a Neutron star sending out this energy signature.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CSO: It's hard to say Captain, these kind of subspace events are incredibly unpredictable. The fissure is feeding the neutron star and it in turn is spreading the radiation from the fissure.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> TAC: Shields are still getting as much power as we can spare, ensign.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> All: Looks like it's affecting internal systems too.
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> ::Panicking:: All: The energy is breaking down our sensors! I don't know how long we have before we go blind!
ACTION: The viewscreen blinks again - all white
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> TAC: Can we harmonize the shield frequency to block or at least limit the damage from the radiation?
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::Squares his shoulders to several consoles at once, leaning in, and darting from screen to screen::
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> SCI/CO: The star is...well, its trying to reverse its aging process. Basically a nova in reverse...we need to close the fissure.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::glances from his console to the viewscreen - it's quite distracting:: CO: Possible, sir. We need more information on the radiation.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> SCI: Work with Ensign Willis to analyse the radiation. ::turns towards the CSO:: CSO: Would firing another spread work? Is it possible to modulate them to create a subspace burst at the point of explosion?
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: A large detonation inside the fissure may disrupt it enough to close the fissure. But we need to find a way past the gravity well, or else the torpedoes will just become stuck like the probes.
ACTION: The viewscreen is blinding, as the volume of the neutron star begins to grow, and brighten.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::sheilds eyes from the screen::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> All: It seems we have no choice, gentlemen. We need to get closer to the fissure and shut it down.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> OPS: Turn that screen off, Cadet!
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::Dims the alpha on the main viewscreen::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Taking us in. We'll be flying blind.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::Powers down the viewscreen::
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::watches the screen, his eyes watering from the blinding light:: CO: Sir, we could eject the warp core. If should be caught by the gravitational pull, and we can detonate it at the fissure's event horizon.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: Captain, I suggest we release the warp core and allow it to detonate.
ACTION: As the ship approaches the fissure, it begins to shrink, in concordance with its distance to the ship.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::glances over to the CSO with a grin - great minds:: CO: Shields are still failing, sir. 50%.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: Stop us at 800k km again, Cadet.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::with the knowledge of the radiation type, he scans the temporal frequency of the radiation and begins modulating shields to compensate::
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Aye Captain.
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> All: So...are we stuck here?
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> CSO: If its are only choice, Lieutenant, then prepare the warp core for ejection.
ACTION: You stop outside the range of the tear. It has shrunk to it's original tiny size of 1km in diameter, slowing the flood of radiation towards the star, and therefore the star's growth.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Now at 800km from the fissure Captain. Coming to a stop.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: I believe the ships warp core is acting as a zipper, so to speak. The cores detonation should close the fissure, or at least reduce its size.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ::Switches the view sensors to monitor signals in the infra-red and lower end of the spectrum, and returns video to the viewscreen::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> All: Wait. The closer we get, the smaller the fissure...
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Captain, could we try entering the fissure?
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> CO: Commander, the star is slowing its...reverse ageing?
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> CSO: We might not need to eject the core after all, and as you said, subspace interactions are... unpredictable.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> ::starts thinking for a few seconds:: Self: I hope I'm right about this...
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> ::Shakes his head.:: NAV/CO: True, but I don't recommend entering the fissure. We can attempt to approach the fissure, but I would recommend a torpedo to close the fissure rather than sacrificing ourselves.
<+OPS_Cdt_Rollins> ALL: I second the Lieutenant's opinion.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> All: Then that's the plan. NAV: Move us close to the fissure but not within it. TAC/CSO: Prepare a salvo of torpedoes and fire on my command.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> SCI: Can you confirm this reading for me? It appears the fissure is attuned to frequency of the warp core.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Aye Captain. Taking us closer to the fissure.
ACTION: as the Saturn nears the fissure, it continues to shrink, slowly...
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::glances over at the CSO:: Sir...What if we adjusted the frequency of the torpedo warheads to the same frequency as the warp core? Would the fissure...I don't know...attach itself to those instead?
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> aTAC: They should, like I said subspace is unpredictable, but its a sound theory.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::nods with a grin:: CSO/CO: I'll start modifying the torpedoes. ::gets to work, bringing up the loaded inventory::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: How close are we now? ::taps combadge:: *MED*: Any report of radiation sickness from the crew, Doctor?
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: We're at 250,000km Captain
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> CO/CSO: Torpedoes are loaded, sirs. ::targets the fissure::
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: Decrease to quarter impulse. ::turns to TAC:: TAC/CSO: Fire when ready.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> ::crosses fingers under his console:: All: Here goes nothing.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: Slowing to quarter impulse.
<+CSO_LtJG_Hret> CO: I recommend we remain at least 150k kilometres Captain, to weather the backlash.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::presses the big red fire button::
<+SCI_Ensign_Kalum> CO: The readings are clear; it's definitely attached to the warp core. ::Stunned:: All: This may work.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: Stop us at the recommended distance.
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> CO: Torpedoes away, Captain. Ten seconds to detonation.
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> CO: We are now at 150,00km from the fissure Captain, all stop.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> Ship: Brace for impact.
ACTION: The Torpedo swims towards the fissure, through the gravity well, off the drone, nothing but net. The explosion is massive and swallows much of the radiation in the storm. The plasma storm belches in response to the ship's weapons and hurls another energy lash towards her.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> NAV: MOVE US OUT!
<~aTAC_Ens_Willis> ::pushes shields to full power:: CO: Incoming energy spike!
<+NAV_Cdt_Garrison> All: Evasive maneuvers, maximum warp.
<@CO_Cmdr_Rakshama> OPS: All spare power to shields!
ACTION: The ship hurtles to warp as the storm lashes out at it's last position. The Saturn has escaped, surprisingly unscathed, however, some of her crew have grown older or younger due to long term exposure to chronaton radiation... What will be the long term effects? Find out next time on...
