Hyperion Arc #7: A Better Tomorrow

Postby C. J. Short » Mon Jul 13, 2015 6:25 pm

TO: CO Captain Jonathan Rome, USS Hyperion NCC-77989
CC: Senior Staff, USS Hyperion NCC-77989

Captain Rome,

I understand a small ceremony is in order aboard the Hyperion, and with your permission, I'd be honored to attend. Your ship, and your crew, were instrumental in preventing the conflict with the Tzenkethi from getting worse, and ultimately for ending it quickly. Millions, and perhaps billions, of Federation citizens are safe because of your actions, and your sacrifices. To be honest, you deserve a hell of a lot more than you're getting. As you can understand, however, things are a bit rattled right now.

I look forward to speaking with you and your crew (and giving you your orders) in person.

Get some rest, Jonathan, and tell your crew to do the same.

Admiral Martin Walker

CC: Commander Rojer Lyon, First Officer, USS Hyperion NCC-77989
FROM: Captain Jonathan Rome, Commanding Officer, Hyperion NCC-77989

SUBJECT : Mission Briefing Stardate: 11507.13

I hope you have all had time to rest and recover at Vinland station but we have received orders from HQ to head directly to Starbase 375 to pick up a new replacement module for the ship. With the aid of their engineers we should have the ship back in one piece in under a week.

XO: Commander, inform Vinland OPS of our new orders and have us ready to fly as soon as possible.

aNAV: Set a course for Starbase 375. Maximum cruising speed.

OPS: Mr. Stark, disengage from station power and please inform starbase 375 of our ETA.

CTO/TAC: I hope this trip will be uneventful. Take the time to continue repairs and upgrades.

CMO *Confidential*: Doctor, I want a full report on crew casualties and injuries. Please report to my Ready room and bring something for my headache.

ENG: Ensign, restore us to main power and have the ship ready for warp speed. Engineering is yours for the time being, report to the Bridge when you are ready.

That is all.

I hope you've all had some time to rest and recover because we are receiving new orders from Admiral Walker tomorrow, in person. That means dresswhites people.

Assemble in the Conference room at 1000 hours.

Engineering, please confirm that all systems are now fully operational.
Medical, please give me an update on your preparations.
All other departments, we'll see what we're up against when we get there. Please be ready for all eventualities.

As always, things are not what they seem and the same holds true for Tefoy. With that said, we are here to deliver the medical supplies. We will help further if asked.

CMO: Doctor, work with Sciences to make sure what we deliver will actually do something about this illness. Let's try get more information on this and go from there.

OPS: Get the office of the planetary government on the line for us to report in, etc.

TAC: You know the drill, keep an eye out for any trouble.

SCI: Ensign, work with medical in analyzing this disease and determine if our relief effort will actually help cure this.

AUX: Let me know what department you are best suited to integrate with - we can use you in any of them.

ENG: If you have any last minute update or upgrades, now is the time to do it or tell me about it. Until we are done here, I want the ship ready for pretty much any eventuality.

aXO: Commander, the delivery of the medicines are your responsibility. Coordinate with the appropriate authorities. We will deliver as they dictate.

Our main priority is getting a cure for this plague.

CMO: I want you to focus on getting the samples and medical information you need to work on the cure. Work with the science department.

OPS: I want you to keep a lock on all personnel on the surface. Be ready to get them out of there if needed. Keep the comm lines open between the ship and all department heads that go to the surface.

TAC: Make sure each team on the surface has a security detail with them. If anything goes wrong, yank the surface teams back. Don’t wait for me to order it.

SCI: Ensign, keep working with medical on this plague.

AUX: Good work on arranging the supplies. Work with the XO to get it down to the surface.

ENG: Keep our engines humming. Also assist medical and sciences with whatever equipment setup they need.

aXO: Commander, direct dispersal of supplies and other matters on the surface. Keep me updated as matters progress.

Proceed with your duties, they haven't changed as of yet.

CMO: I want an update on your 'premier' patient, I need to know before I contact the Admiral. Means of infection since it hadn't jumped the wall before this, etc.
aXO: I want the person that asked us for help in our care. Make it happen so we can do more than pander to the elite.

We have persons on board that requested asylum and I’ve agreed to grant them their request. Until my meeting with the Admiral is over, be on high alert. We don’t know what response the ruling parties will come up with.

CMO: Continue working on the cure, have the science department work with you on that.
TO: Maintain the level of alert currently in effect. I don’t expect physical retaliation, but won’t rule it out.
EO: I trust the ship systems are in top condition.
OPS: Get me Admiral Walker on the line as soon as possible.
SCI: Continue working with medical on the cure.
LOG: Report back on the distribution of supplies in the worst affected areas.
aXO: Keep an eye on everything, I will probably be in conference with Admiral Walker for a while.
