So many new Members, so few new Characters?

Postby Jack Lucas » Mon Mar 03, 2014 3:27 pm

So, I see that we've added almost 20 new players in the last two weeks, but there have only been 2 or 3 new characters rolled...

What gives? If you're lurking, what's keeping you from rolling a new character?

Me personally:
a.) Waiting to see if a weekday evening for Americans ship was going to be launched.
b.) Way too much contemplation about what my character would be.

Trying to figure out my character.

Also apparently trying for the life of me to figure out IRC, as I've just realized tonight with trying mIRC for the first time in ten years and getting nowhere fast. Whoops.

e: or maybe I just need to fuck around with it some more and eventually I'll figure out what I'm doing :ms:

Travis - can you roll on the Sunday afternoon game in the US? The USS Saturn?

Shawna, saw that you got into IRC last night, looking forward to reading your bio when you roll a character!

I'm currently looking at getting my butt on the Bremen once [insert science cadet here] is all rolled up. Looks like they're desperate for some new characters!

I'm just in that awkward job hunting spot where I have all the free time in the world right now but am hoping that won't remain the case. :V Eventually. Someday. Knowing that if IRL gets in the way, there's a system in place for transferring characters or otherwise bowing out until things are sorted, is encouraging.

There is in fact a system for transferring characters, transfers are welcomed whole-heartedly. :)

So if at some point (Hopefully soon!) you find yourself with less free time around your scheduled mission, you can move your character to a ship that's better suited for you. No muss, no fuss. It's as easy as going to the Ship Roster page, finding the ship you want, then clicking any of the Open Positions and following the short instructions.

We'd love to have you on the Bremen. I have so many mission ideas, and I need some teal to pull them off!

If you need any help getting sorted, just ask, won't you?

I still use MSChat myself, its not as customizable as mIRC, but its easy to use. If the chat app is whats holding you back, you might want to use MSChat until your comfortable with mIRC.

As for characters, the best advice I can give is flesh out your character as much as possible. Figure out what you think would be fun to play and then build from there, because the most important thing is to enjoy yourself.
