CSEC Kalem Animim

This is a Forum-Only Station. Do you have an inactive character that you want to write about? Is your character being transferred somewhere else, or fresh out of the Academy? This is where you write logs or start something creative with your fellow players either on Spacedock, orbiting Earth, or elsewhere in the STE universe.

Excellent finish! I was very excited to see where you took this. A fantastic tale.

We should make rules of inhibition a permanent fixture :buddy:

It's still a Starfleet station. Keep your minds out of the gutters. :P

Great log, both of them. Nicely done guys!

Hopefully Swiss will turn in a "Part 3" from Kenrik's point of view.

Stardate 11405.14

There was something endearing about the kid, but Kalem was worried that he had given him too many ideas. Those ideas might get him into trouble and that would weigh on Kalem. Truth be told, he was just plain worried, not only about the kid, but also of this settlement and the other ones present in the planet. The people on them were mere villagers, farmers, craftsmen. They weren't fighters, they barely knew how to hold a phaser rifle. They were going to fight and they were going to get slaughtered. What could Kalem do? Train them, teach them how to fight? Against the Tzenkethi, armoured warriors with probably years of experience? How could they hope to survive.

He had been told not to worry about the political situation, but he couldn't understand how that was possible. If they left the militias to fight alone, they would get slaughtered. If Starfleet officers fought alongside the militias, what would happen if they fell in battle? What would happen if they were required to attack in order to defend? How would a direct conflict NOT immediately precipitate an all-out war between the Federation and the Tzenkethi Coalition?

And if Kalem was told not to fight, could he just leave the Romulans to fend for themselves? Could he leave that cute kid to die because he had been ordered to do so? Not in a good conscience. Not without him resigning his commission. If ordered or not, Kalem would fight. He just hoped that it wouldn't come down to it...
